The new financial year

Last week marked the start of the new financial year, and the team at the Business Finance Guide spoke with Lorence Nye, Policy Advisor at the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses), to discuss the opportunities that the new financial year brings to small businesses.

Lorence advises that the start of the new financial year is a good time for business owners to take stock of the past year, and to look forward to what their plans might be for the new year.

He explains that the Federation of Small Businesses has found that only one in ten small business owners are looking for finance for their business, and that many of those are too reliant on debt finance. This presents small business owners with an opportunity to explore the Business Finance Guide and really assess the different options that are best suited to their business moving forward.
